Creative Direction
In collaboration with Sarita Nauth, Body Talk was created with a full all-female Caribbean crew and cast of models in a Brooklyn, New York studio. Photographed by Leeanna Hariprashad, the project was conceptually developed and set-designed by me, with styling and creative direction shaped to amplify the theme. The series opens an unfiltered conversation on body shaming within the Indo-Caribbean community, blending visual storytelling and dialogue to challenge harmful norms and reclaim self-worth.
ICB x Sarita Nauth — “Body Talk”
In this collaboration between Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine (ICB) and Influencer Sarita Nauth, we opened an unfiltered conversation on body shaming within the Indo-Caribbean community. Through a blend of photography, storytelling, and dialogue, the project challenged the normalized comments and silent judgments that have long shaped how our bodies are perceived — and how we perceive ourselves. Together, we created a space where vulnerability meets resistance, exploring the intersection of beauty standards, cultural expectations, and self-worth. The collaboration became both a mirror and a megaphone: reflecting our lived experiences while amplifying a call to shift the way we speak about and to each other’s bodies.
